The Michael Cusack Centre
Michael Cusack was born in Carron, County Clare in 1847 and died in 1906. A fascinating and complex personality, his passion for Gaelic games was matched only by his love of the unique and beautiful Burren limestone landscape where he was born and raised. Cusack was also the model for “The Citizen” in James Joyce’s Ulysses. The project was conceived to celebrate the man and the association that he founded. The original homestead has been fully restored and a contemporary visitor centre developed nearby.

The course lies within 200 yards of the historic monastic settlement of Kilmacduagh. Christy Jnr., himself was particularly excited by the new course at Gort, where he regards, the four Par 3′s as among the best on offer at any course in Ireland.
